Database descriptor (DBD)
An internal representation of a DB2 for z/OS database definition, which reflects the data definition that is in the DB2 for z/OS catalog. The objects that are defined in a database descriptor are table spaces, tables, indexes, index spaces, relationships, cheque constraints, and triggers. A DBD also contains information about accessing tables in the database.
