An electric engine, operating either from current supplied from trolley and track or from storage batteries carried on the locomotive. The locomotive may be powered by battery, diesel, compressed air, trolley, or some combination such as battery-trolley or trolleycable reel. Used to move empty and loaded mine cars in and out of the mine.
