The Heroes Cross on Gurga hill is a representative monument of the town and symbolizes the sacrifice of the 365 heroes, sons of Breaza who fought in the War of Independence of 1877-1878 and in World War 1 during 1914-1918. It was built in 1930 on the hill nipple at 743 m altitude and is a 11 m tall cross.
