Energy resources are of two types, renewable & non-renewable. Fossil fuels (such as coal, petroleum, and natural gas), and certain aquifers are all non-renewable resources. In contrast, resources such as timber (when harvested sustainably) and wind (used to power energy conversion systems), Hydropower, solar energy are considered renewable resources. These are alternative energy.
