Temperature indicator that consists of a series of small bars placed horizontally on a refractory stand. On heating, some bars are bent to varying degrees, while others are unaffected. The temperature is indicated by the bar that is just beginning to sag. The bars are numbered 1 to 40, the temperature range being 600 to 1,550 degrees C.
